Captain Dan Hill

Dan grew up on the water in the Olympic Peninsula area and started sailing El Toro dinghies at age 8. He has never taken a break from sailing including living on a 37 ft sailboat for seven years. He has sailed in the West Indies, the Atlantic, the Pacific, and extensively throughout the Salish sea. He has a passion for cooking great galley meals, long-distance racing, single-handed expeditions, and sharing knowledge about all things nautical while keeping it fun. Some of his best life moments have been navigating through the fog using analog instruments drinking a great cup of coffee. He holds a US Coast Guard 50-ton master’s license and is ASA certified to teach 101, 103, 104, 105, 114, and 118.
