J/35c Astraea
$75,000
About
Astraea is available for ownership through our leaseback program. You own the boat, SSC handles the moorage, and you get paid every month.
The leaseback: SSC covers your moorage at Shilshole Bay ($842/month) and pays you $750/month to keep Astraea in the fleet for lessons, charters, and club programs. That’s $1,592/month in total value on a $75,000 boat.
Owner sailing time: June through mid-September, up to 14 days (10 weekdays + 2 weekends). The rest of the year, use is virtually unrestricted.
Following the initial success of the J/35 race boat, J-Boats introduced the J/35C as the cruising version. The result is an extremely stable boat with a large sail plan that keeps her moving even on light wind days. Fast in light air, and a simple reef and furling the genoa is all it takes to handle heavier breeze. As a former Sailing World Boat of the Year, the J/35C is a genuine mix of performance and comfort.
Down below, Astraea comfortably sleeps six adults with two private berths, a full galley, and a beautifully refinished wood interior. She’s well equipped for an overnight or a weekend on the Sound.
As a boat owner in the SSC fleet, you become a Seattle J Club member at a discounted rate, with access to the full SSC fleet for day sail and overnight charter, the Race Program, and all member programs year-round. There are also potential tax benefits to leaseback ownership worth discussing with your accountant.
