Captain Alex Fajardo
‘I love to teach because it allows me to share what I’m passionate about’.
For almost thirty years, I have been involved in teaching outdoor sports, from Skydiving to Kitesurfing. Fifteen years ago, after my first week of sailing as a total novice, I knew I had to be a sailing teacher.
Although I was born in Barcelona, Spain, I first started sailing in England and Scotland, cold, wet and beautiful, where I gained my RYA Yacht Master Instructor Sail and my Power Boat Instructor qualifications. Since then, I’ve been teaching students, from beginners to advance levels, in many places like UK, Canary Islands, Gibraltar, Bahamas, Spain, Croatia and Greece. Before moving to the US, my wife and I had our own charter operation in Greece for four years, where we taught and explored the Mediterranean waters on board our 40’ yacht.
I’m certified by the RYA and ASA to teach a wide range of courses from Basic Keelboat to Coastal Cruising, and I hold a USCG Captain’s License.
