International Sailing Opportunities
Seattle Sailing Club provides students and members with the skills, confidence, and certifications to sail internationally and has planned international sailing adventures for the SSC community.
In June 2011, a group of SSC members went with SSC Instructor Lloyd F. to Greece and sailed on a 40-ft Catamaran in the Mediterranean. On their trip they completed their 114 Cruising Multihull Endorsement. The trip was filled with wonderful scenery, fantastic sailing, and an overall great club community experience. Terri D., who went on the trip wrote to us: “Greece was excellent! The people are friendly, the towns and villages are quaint and beautiful, the streets are narrow (hence little cars), the seas are wonderful, the food was great and the boat was fantastic!”
“To sail in Croatia, is to sail back in time, with towns not just hundreds of years old, but thousands. 48° North, Sail Northwest, and Seattle Sailing Club put together a flotilla of 37 northwest sailors to experience the multi-cultural influences of Greeks, Romans, Venetians, Turks, and others on this captivating region.” – 48° North Magazine November 2013
Sail Northwest had just started selling a new line of boats, Salona Yachts, and the yacht company also ran a charter operation to preview the boats out of Split, Croatia. The decision was set, we were going to host a flotilla on Salona Yachts down the Croatian Dalmation Coast. The group came back with phenomenal sailing stories and had had the opportunity to visit the Salona Yachts boatyard while in Croatia,
